ABOUT THE WINE
Made from 100% Chenin Blanc grown on the famed limestone slopes of Brézé, this wine showcases the vineyard’s unique ability to deliver both energy and depth. The 2023 vintage was marked by a cool, steady ripening period, ideal for capturing freshness and detail. The fruit is organically farmed and hand-harvested, with fermentation and aging done in used barrels to preserve texture without overt oak influence.
On the nose, the wine offers notes of pear skin, chamomile, flint, and preserved lemon. The palate is structured and vibrant, with layers of citrus, chalk, and subtle savory notes carried by piercing acidity and a mineral-laced backbone. No malolactic fermentation is allowed, keeping the wine taut and age-worthy.

Brendan Stater-West, an American-born sommelier turned vigneron, has quickly established himself as one of the rising stars of the Loire Valley. After working under Romain Guiberteau, he began crafting his own wines from the Brézé vineyard, focusing exclusively on Chenin Blanc. His philosophy emphasizes organic farming, minimal intervention, and total respect for site expression. Each of his wines is a thoughtful, restrained, and transparent reflection of the chalky soils of Saumur.
