ABOUT THE WINE
Sourced from vineyards in the windswept hills of the Cape South Coast, this Pinot Noir reflects the cooling influence of nearby oceans, which moderate ripening and preserve natural acidity. The 2023 vintage shows vibrant notes of cranberry, raspberry, and pomegranate layered with nuances of clove, forest floor, and a faint savory edge.
The grapes are hand-harvested and carefully sorted before gentle fermentation, often with partial whole-cluster inclusion to enhance aromatic complexity and structure. Aging takes place in French oak barrels, with a restrained percentage of new oak to maintain purity and elegance while adding subtle texture and depth.
Rooted in a philosophy of site expression and minimal intervention, Cap Maritime emphasizes balance and transparency in winemaking. This Pinot Noir pairs beautifully with duck, roasted salmon, mushroom dishes, and herb-roasted poultry.
