ABOUT THIS WINE

Made from organically farmed Montepulciano grapes grown on the rolling hills of Atri in the heart of Abruzzo, the 2023 vintage reflects Francesco Cirelli’s minimal-intervention philosophy. The grapes are hand-harvested and fermented spontaneously with native yeasts in stainless steel to retain freshness and fruit character. No oak is used, allowing the grape’s natural brambly depth and savory notes to shine through.

This is Montepulciano at its most expressive and honest—bright, unfussy, and versatile. With its soft structure and lifted fruit, it pairs beautifully with tomato-based pastas, grilled sausages, rustic pizzas, or lentil stews. Slightly chilled, it also makes a superb companion to warm-weather meals and casual gatherings.

ABOUT THIS PRODUCER

Francesco Cirelli is one of the leading voices in Italy’s new wave of natural winemakers. Based in the coastal hills of Abruzzo, Cirelli farms his family estate organically and biodynamically, raising animals and growing grains alongside vines in a closed-loop ecosystem. His wines are guided by respect for the land, simplicity in the cellar, and a clear desire to let the grape and terroir speak for themselves.

While the estate is known for both amphora-aged bottlings and stainless steel expressions, all Cirelli wines share a common thread: they are alive, engaging, and deeply rooted in tradition without being bound by it. The Montepulciano is a gateway into this philosophy—honest, joyful, and profoundly drinkable.
