ABOUT THIS WINE

“Clos de Midi” is a walled vineyard perched on the limestone-rich hill of Brézé, one of the Loire’s most revered terroirs for Chenin Blanc. Facing north and east, the site benefits from cooler exposures that enhance the wine’s finesse and lift. Arnaud Lambert farms the vineyard organically and biodynamically, emphasizing soil health and vineyard vitality.

The 2023 vintage was vinified using native yeasts and aged in stainless steel to preserve its crystalline purity and precise mineral expression. No malolactic fermentation is encouraged, preserving the wine’s vibrant acidity and electric profile. This Chenin is a study in restraint and elegance, with a saline backbone and textural finesse that makes it both invigorating and gastronomically versatile.

Ideal pairings include oysters, goat cheese tart, sashimi, or vegetable-driven dishes like asparagus or fennel salad. Its mouthwatering profile also makes it a superb aperitif.

After taking over the family estate in Saint-Cyr-en-Bourg, Lambert’s vision has been to elevate the unique identity of individual vineyard sites, especially in the historic Brézé hill, once home to wines prized over Burgundy in the 15th century.

Today, Domaine Arnaud Lambert farms around 40 hectares biodynamically across Brézé and Saint-Cyr, working with both Chenin Blanc and Cabernet Franc. His winemaking philosophy is centered on purity, minimal intervention, and a deep respect for site expression. Through meticulous farming and restrained cellar work, Lambert produces wines that are luminous, structured, and built to evolve, yet equally compelling in their youth.
