ABOUT THE WINE

Passetoutgrains is one of Burgundy’s historic—but increasingly rare—field blends, traditionally composed of Gamay and Pinot Noir. D’Angerville’s 2023 version, made from estate-owned vines in the Côte d’Or, treats this humble appellation with the same care as its Premier Cru bottlings. The blend is typically around two-thirds Gamay to one-third Pinot Noir, co-fermented to enhance aromatic lift and textural integration.

The 2023 vintage brought freshness and vibrancy, ideal for this early-drinking style. Grapes were hand-harvested and fermented with native yeasts in stainless steel, with gentle extraction and no new oak. The result is a wine of purity, lifted aromatics, and a bright, linear frame.

On the nose, expect wild strawberry, cranberry, and crushed rose, with hints of pepper and forest floor. The palate is juicy and balanced, showing Gamay’s freshness and Pinot’s finesse.
