ABOUT THIS WINE

“Grains de Pinot” is sourced from a selection of the domaine’s best Pinot Noir parcels on limestone and clay-limestone soils in and around Verdigny. The 2023 vintage is marked by freshness and precision, reflecting a cool growing season with healthy ripeness. Grapes are hand-harvested, destemmed, and fermented with indigenous yeasts in temperature-controlled tanks. Aging occurs in older French oak barrels for gentle oxygenation without overt wood influence. The result is a Pinot Noir that bridges delicacy and structure, with red berry purity, hints of spice, and a mineral backbone. The magnum format enhances aromatic lift and aging potential. A natural pairing with duck breast, mushroom tarts, or charcuterie.

ABOUT THIS PRODUCER

Domaine Paul Prieur et Fils is a multigenerational, family-run estate based in Verdigny, one of Sancerre’s most respected villages. Among the earliest in the region to estate-bottle their wines, the Prieur family has long championed vineyard expression and sustainable farming. Today, the domaine is led by Luc Prieur, who brings both technical expertise and a deep respect for terroir to the winemaking. All vineyards are certified organic, and the wines—whether Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Noir—are known for their clarity, tension, and mineral precision. The “Grains de Pinot” label reflects the estate’s commitment to serious, site-expressive red Sancerre, a style still quietly gaining the recognition it deserves.
