“Les Vireuils” is a high-altitude lieu-dit located on the northern slope of Meursault, just above the village, where the shallow limestone soils and breezy exposition yield wines of notable freshness and linearity. In 2023, a vintage marked by clarity and balance, the site’s tension and aromatic finesse are especially pronounced.
Farmed organically by Jean-Marc Roulot and harvested by hand, the grapes are vinified with native yeasts and aged in French oak barrels (typically 15–20% new) for 12–15 months. No bâtonnage is used, preserving the wine’s cut and purity. “Vireuils” often drinks well in youth due to its brightness, but it also gains complexity with 3–5+ years in bottle. Perfect alongside oysters, ceviche, or simply grilled sole with lemon butter.
