ABOUT THE WINE
The 2023 Domaine Jean-Louis Chave Saint-Joseph is made from 100% Syrah, drawn from a mosaic of parcels across the appellation’s historic villages, including Tournon, Mauves, Saint-Jean-de-Muzols and Lemps. Granite-based soils contribute freshness, structure and a distinctive mineral character. The wine is vinified with approximately 30% whole clusters, bringing aromatic lift and complexity.
The 2023 is expressive and finely balanced, with fragrant notes of red and blue fruits, red cherry, orange blossom and dried violets, layered with leather, peppery herbs and savory spice. Medium to full-bodied, it has a supple, polished texture, fresh energy and refined tannins that carry through a long finish. This 1.5L magnum is a beautiful format for sharing and cellaring. Enjoy with roast lamb, grilled beef, duck, charcuterie or aged cheeses.
