2023 Joseph Colin Puligny-Montrachet "Le Trézin", Burgundy, France
Perched high on the slopes of Puligny-Montrachet, “Le Trézin” captures the thrilling tension and mineral clarity that define this prized terroir. The 2023 vintage delivers crystalline citrus, white peach, and crushed oyster shell on the nose, followed by a palate of precise orchard fruit layered with flinty salinity. The texture is refined yet taut, with bright acidity framing a long, vibrating finish that echoes with chalk and lemon zest.

ABOUT THE WINE
Sourced from one of Puligny-Montrachet’s highest and coolest lieu-dits, Le Trézin offers a distinct expression marked by finesse and minerality. The 2023 vintage benefited from a cooler growing season, allowing slow phenolic ripening and retention of vibrant acidity. The wine opens with delicate aromas of white flowers, citrus peel, and wet stone, evolving into flavors of green apple, lime blossom, and almond skin. Aged in older oak barrels to preserve site transparency, the wine maintains a pure, unadorned character. Farming is lutte raisonnée (reasoned struggle), avoiding synthetic inputs while respecting soil life and biodiversity. Vinified with minimal intervention, native yeasts, and gentle lees aging, this wine is a compelling study in terroir and restraint. Ideal pairings include shellfish, poached white fish, and young goat cheeses.
ABOUT THE PRODUCER
Joseph Colin, son of legendary Marc Colin and brother to Pierre-Yves, launched his own domaine in 2017 after inheriting some of the family’s finest parcels in Saint-Aubin, Chassagne, and Puligny-Montrachet. Joseph has quickly distinguished himself with a style that emphasizes precision, mineral transparency, and purity of fruit. Farming is sustainable with increasing emphasis on organics, and winemaking is hands-off—no bâtonnage, low sulfur, and only subtle use of oak. His wines have become reference points for a new generation of white Burgundy lovers seeking clarity and verve, without excess weight. “Le Trézin” is a hallmark of his touch: crystalline, electric, and deeply rooted in place.
