ABOUT THIS WINE
Crafted from 100% Macabeu grapes sourced from 24-year-old vines planted on clay soils at 316 meters elevation in Santes Creus, Tarragona, the 2023 La Rural “Yellow” undergoes an 8-day skin maceration without cap disturbance, followed by gentle pressing into stainless steel tanks. The wine rests for 10 months before bottling without fining, filtering, or sulfur addition . This meticulous process results in a wine that is both expressive and true to its terroir. Its vibrant acidity and complex flavor profile make it an excellent companion to dishes such as grilled seafood, tapas, and Mediterranean fare.
ABOUT THIS PRODUCER
La Rural is the project of brothers Andreu and Xavi Padró, who began making wine in 2018 on their family's organically certified farm in Santes Creus, Catalunya. Inspired by the natural wine movement, they left their previous careers to focus on producing fresh, light wines without sulfur. Working with stainless steel tanks and employing short, infusion-style macerations, they craft wines that reflect their rural heritage and the unique terroir of the Alt Camp region.
