ABOUT THE WINE

The 2023 "MAC" Tinto is a blend of traditional Douro varietals, primarily Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, and Tinta Roriz, sourced from sustainably farmed vineyards in the cooler, higher-altitude subzones of the Douro Valley. Fermented in stainless steel and aged briefly in tank, the wine is made without oak to highlight the natural vibrancy and purity of the fruit. Aromatically, it leans into fresh red and black berries, hints of dried herbs, and subtle floral undertones. On the palate, it's polished and energetic, with supple tannins and a clean, mineral-driven finish. This is a versatile red that pairs beautifully with grilled sardines, pork skewers, or mushroom risotto.

Maçanita’s “MAC” line is designed as an accessible expression of Douro character—uncomplicated, fresh, and joyful—without sacrificing typicity. It's a wine made for the table, yet one that speaks clearly of its origin.
