ABOUT THE WINE
Sourced from the Premier Cru vineyard Les Charmots, perched on the upper slopes of Pommard near Volnay, this wine benefits from thin, limestone-rich soils that lend tension and mineral drive. The 2023 vintage was marked by optimal ripeness and balanced conditions, giving the wine both depth and detail.
Demougeot farms Les Charmots organically, with a deep respect for soil health and vine vitality. In the cellar, he uses whole-cluster fermentation in moderate proportion, indigenous yeasts, and gentle extraction to preserve aromatic lift and structure. Aging occurs in mostly older French oak barrels for around 14–16 months, allowing the terroir to speak unmasked.
Expect notes of dark raspberry, plum skin, sous-bois, and a saline edge—a wine of quiet strength and age-worthy grace. Pair it with roasted duck, game birds, or wild mushroom dishes.
