A medium-bodied wine with a crisp profile, featuring notes of white-fleshed fruit and floral nuances. The finish is clean and refreshing, reflecting the cool climate origins of the grapes.
ABOUT THIS WINE
The 2023 Tâcherons Chardonnay is a white wine from the Haute Vallée de l'Aude in the Languedoc-Roussillon region of southern France. Produced by the Tâcherons winery, this wine is crafted from 100% Chardonnay grapes sourced from high-altitude vineyards at elevations ranging from 300 to 500 meters above sea level. The cooler climate of this region, along with clay-limestone soils, contributes to the wine's fresh and balanced character. The wine is fermented in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of around 14°C, preserving its fresh fruit character. It is aged on fine lees for approximately eight months, enhancing its texture and complexity.
ABOUT THIS PRODUCER
Founded in 1994, Tâcherons is named after an old Burgundian tradition referring to the meticulous vineyard workers who perform tasks such as hand-plowing with the Hirondelle plow and pruning with shears. This homage reflects the winery's commitment to precision and respect for terroir. The estate spans 110 hectares and produces wines that showcase the passion of the vine growers and their ancestral relationship to the land.
