ABOUT THIS WINE
The 2023 VK “Ikons” from Moslavina, Croatia, is a stunning homage to two indigenous grape varieties—Škrlet and Graševina—blended equally to celebrate local tradition and lineage. Crafted by Voštinić – Klasnić, a family winery dating back to 1936, this wine embodies ancestral viticultural knowledge passed down from Tomislav’s great-grandfather, who pioneered Škrlet’s revival and underscored its organic cultivation. Fermented entirely in stainless steel using native yeasts, the grapes are hand-harvested at dawn to preserve freshness. The soil, a clay-loam blend on the slopes of Moslavačka gora at about 160 m elevation, adds structural definition, and yields remain intentionally low (~2.5 kg/vine across 5,200 vines/ha) to ensure depth and intensity.
ABOUT THIS PRODUCER
Tomislav, often dubbed the "Young Prince of Škrlet," stewards his vineyards organically—eschewing certification to put vine health first—and ferments with minimal intervention to let terroir speak. His Ikons blend serves as an affectionate tribute to his grandfather’s wisdom: combining Škrlet’s aromatic brightness with Graševina’s depth to craft a true “everyday wine of Moslavina”.
