2024 Bidaia Getariako Txakolina, Spain
On the nose, the wine offers zesty citrus—lemon, lime—and subtle floral notes of white flowers, underpinned by a hint of ripe tropical fruit that adds depth. The palate is light-bodied yet surprisingly round, with minerality and balanced acidity, delivering a clean, refreshing finish that feels both cleansing and invigorating.

ABOUT THIS WINE
The 2024 Bidaia Getariako Txakolina is a vivacious, meticulously crafted Basque white wine produced by Bidaia. It is a blend of Hondarrabi Zuri, with smaller proportions of Gros Manseng and Petit Courbu, a formula that adds complexity and aromatic expression to the classic fresh Zuri profile. This wine is organic and made with minimal intervention: grapes are hand-picked, whole-bunch pressed, fermented with native yeasts in stainless steel, and bottled to preserve freshness and naturally slight effervescence—without additives beyond minimal sulfites.
ABOUT THIS PRODUCER
Bidaia is a boutique estate founded by Xabi Urruzola and Garazi del Rey in their native Getaria, Spain. Their name “Bidaia” means “the journey” in Basque, reflecting their personal story of returning home and embracing local viticulture. The estate covers around 8.5 hectares where grapes are grown by hand in the traditional parral trellis system near the Cantabrian Sea, harvesting steep dolomitic limestone vineyards.
