ABOUT THIS WINE

Produced from 100% Sauvignon Blanc grown at Kick Ranch Vineyard in Sonoma County’s Fountaingrove District, this wine comes from vines more than 20 years old planted on the steepest sections of the hillside. The vineyard’s rocky volcanic soils and deep-rooted vines, combined with cool coastal winds from the Petaluma Gap, encourage slow ripening while preserving acidity and aromatic complexity. The 2024 growing season was marked by abundant winter rainfall, a cool spring, and an extended growing season, allowing the grapes to develop mature flavors and phenolics while retaining excellent freshness. The grapes were hand-picked and night harvested, whole-cluster pressed, and settled in chilled stainless steel before fermentation. The wine then finished fermentation in neutral French oak barrels and 75-gallon stainless-steel drums, followed by six months of aging on the lees for added texture and complexity.

Bricoleur Vineyards is a family-owned Sonoma County winery built around the idea of combining wine, food, hospitality, and a strong connection to the land. Its vineyard portfolio includes the estate property in the Russian River Valley as well as Kick Ranch, a 43-acre organically farmed and California Certified Sustainable vineyard on the western slopes of the Mayacamas. Kick Ranch was acquired by Bricoleur in 2018 and has become an important source for the winery’s Rhône and Bordeaux varieties, including Sauvignon Blanc. The site’s volcanic soils, hillside exposure, and coastal influence provide an ideal setting for producing wines with aromatic intensity, structure, and freshness. Bricoleur works with winemakers Cary Gott and Bob Cabral, whose approach emphasizes careful vineyard farming and expressive, terroir-driven wines.
