2024 Brookdale Estate Chenin Blanc “Mason Road”, Paarl, South Africa

A bright and expressive take on South Africa’s flagship white grape, the Mason Road Chenin Blanc offers a vibrant balance of stone fruit purity, textured mid-palate, and mouthwatering acidity. Aromas of ripe pear, quince, and citrus blossom lead into a palate of white peach, honeycomb, and a touch of saline minerality. Fresh yet layered, it finishes clean with a gentle waxy grip and persistent lift.

ABOUT THIS WINE

Sourced from younger vines grown on granitic soils in the foothills of the Du Toitskloof Mountains, the 2024 Mason Road Chenin Blanc is Brookdale’s more playful, early-drinking expression of Chenin. The grapes are hand-harvested and fermented naturally in stainless steel and older oak, preserving freshness while adding gentle texture. Partial lees contact lends the wine its supple mouthfeel without compromising its brightness.

This cuvée pays homage to the Cape’s legacy of Chenin while embracing a modern, terroir-driven approach. It bursts with orchard fruit and citrus vibrancy, underpinned by a subtle mineral edge. Versatile at the table, it pairs beautifully with grilled seafood, roast chicken, or creamy vegetarian dishes, and stands confidently as a solo sipper on warm days.
