Made from 100% Chardonnay, this wine comes from vineyards in the Mâconnais, where limestone and clay soils provide a natural balance of fruit richness and mineral freshness. Perrusset farms a relatively small estate—around 8 hectares, primarily Chardonnay—on marly limestone soils rich in quartz and marine fossils. These soils give his wines a distinctive chalky, grainy minerality, while the warmer Mâconnais climate provides generous fruit and roundness. His Mâcon-Villages is known for delivering surprising depth and intensity for the appellation, sometimes compared in character to wines from Pouilly-Fuissé or even Saint-Aubin.
