2024 Lady of the Sunshine Sauvignon Blanc "Stolpman Vineyard", Ballard Canyon, California, USA
Lean, mineral-driven, and quietly expressive, the 2024 Sauvignon Blanc from Lady of the Sunshine offers a refined, site-specific take on this familiar variety. Aromas of green citrus, lemongrass, white peach, and flint unfold with clarity, while the palate is taut and textured, revealing layers of grapefruit pith, wet stone, and subtle herbal tones. A pulse of acidity drives the wine to a precise, mouthwatering finish.

ABOUT THE WINE
This wine is crafted from organically farmed Sauvignon Blanc grown at Stolpman Vineyard, a high-elevation, limestone-rich site in Ballard Canyon. The vineyard’s maritime-influenced diurnal swings and calcareous soils create tension, salinity, and natural balance in the fruit. In 2024, the grapes were hand-harvested early in the season, then whole-cluster pressed and fermented with native yeasts in neutral French oak barrels. Aged on the lees for 7 months without stirring, the wine was bottled unfined, unfiltered, and with minimal sulfur. The result is a Sauvignon Blanc of clarity and restraint—bright citrus, green herbs, and chalky minerality come together in a wine that is both serious and refreshing. Perfect with goat cheese tart, raw shellfish, or spring greens with citrus vinaigrette.
ABOUT THE PRODUCER
Lady of the Sunshine is the project of Gina Giugni, a biodynamic farmer and natural winemaker deeply committed to regenerative agriculture and transparent winemaking. Working with a small number of thoughtfully farmed coastal and inland vineyard sites—including her family’s Scar of the Sea Ranch—Gina brings a hands-off approach that honors each vineyard’s unique energy. In the cellar, fermentations are native, vessels are neutral, and additions are minimal. With the Stolpman Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc, Gina highlights the grape’s less-is-more potential: crisp, clean, and limestone-inflected, it reflects both the place and the mindful intent behind it.
