2024 Spatzi Dry Furmint, Tokaj, Hungary
A crisp and lively white, the 2024 Spatzi Dry Furmint captures the essence of Tokaj’s volcanic soils and historic terroir with clarity and verve. Aromas of green apple, quince, and lemon peel are accented by white flowers and a smoky, stony edge. The palate is taut and refreshing, with driving acidity, subtle orchard-fruit sweetness, and a clean, mineral-laced finish that lingers with saline lift.
ABOUT THE WINE
Made from 100% Furmint, the flagship white grape of Tokaj, Spatzi’s 2024 vintage highlights the region’s ability to produce structured and racy dry wines in addition to its famed sweet styles. The fruit is sourced from hillside vineyards rooted in volcanic tuff and clay, which provide both tension and a pronounced mineral character. The 2024 season brought healthy, evenly ripened fruit, balancing vibrant acidity with concentrated aromatics.
Grapes are hand-harvested, pressed, and fermented with native yeasts in stainless steel to preserve freshness and purity of fruit. A brief period of lees contact adds subtle weight and textural nuance, without compromising the wine’s clean, linear profile.
The resulting wine offers a balance of citrus brightness, orchard-fruit depth, and volcanic minerality—a style that is both refreshing now and structured enough to age for several years.

By crafting expressive, approachable wines, Spatzi introduces a new generation of drinkers to Hungary’s most important wine region, showing Furmint not just as the backbone of Tokaji Aszú, but as a thrilling dry white in its own right.
