ABOUT THIS PRODUCER
Pascal Janvier is one of the key figures responsible for bringing renewed attention to Jasnières and the neighboring Coteaux du Loir appellations. After establishing his domaine in the early 1990s, Janvier focused on reviving the reputation of this historic but often overlooked region through thoughtful farming and honest, terroir-driven winemaking.
His philosophy centers on minimal intervention and allowing the unique character of the Loir Valley’s cool climate and limestone soils to shine. The domaine works primarily with Chenin Blanc for Jasnières, alongside the region’s traditional red varieties such as Pineau d’Aunis, producing wines known for their freshness, authenticity, and remarkable value.
Pascal Janvier’s wines capture the quiet beauty of this northern corner of the Loire: elegant rather than powerful, complex rather than showy, and deeply expressive of one of France’s most distinctive Chenin Blanc terroirs.
