ABOUT THIS WINE

"House of Brown" is Brown Estate's new line with a focus on affordability, but with the winemaking expertise of the Estate wines. Barrel-fermented in French Oak, 30% of which was new.

ABOUT THIS PRODUCER

We established the Brown Estate label officially in 1996 when we harvested what would become our first bottling of Brown Zin. In January 2000 we debuted our first three vintages at the annual ZAP (Zinfandel Advocates & Producers) Grand Tasting in San Francisco. Fast forward to August 2021… when we bottled our 25th vintage.

In the meantime our business has grown slowly but surely as our brand has gained increasingly broad exposure to an extraordinarily diverse audience thanks to word of mouth IRL and on social media. To make our wines and hospitality experience more accessible, in April 2017 we opened our Brown Downtown tasting room on the resurgent First Street corridor in the heart of downtown Napa.

House of Brown is a second label of Brown Estate, Napa's first Black-owned estate winery. All of the wines are produced by women of color, and are certified sustainable. The fruit for this label comes from California's Central Valley, with the Chardonnay being the flagship of the label, and plans to expand the lineup to include bubbles, rosé, and a red blend.

The ethos of this label is one of inclusiveness, sustainability, and accessibility "Come One, Come All."
