ABOUT THIS WINE

The 2012 Château d’Armailhac is a classic Pauillac blend of 54% Cabernet Sauvignon, 29% Merlot, 14% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot. The vintage opens with an intense, dark-red color and aromas of red fruit and oak, followed by deeper notes of roasted coffee and spice. On the palate, ripe fruit and toasted nuances are framed by expressive, velvety tannins and a firm, well-structured core. The finish is long, silky and balanced.

A full-bodied Bordeaux with the structure and savory character expected of Pauillac, this wine is a natural partner for roast beef, lamb, game and aged cheeses.

ABOUT THIS PRODUCER

Château d’Armailhac is a historic Pauillac estate whose vineyard origins date to the 14th century. The property was included in the 1855 Classification of Médoc and Sauternes Growths and was acquired by Baron Philippe de Rothschild in 1933. Today it is one of the three Pauillac estates in the Mouton branch of the Rothschild family, alongside Château Mouton Rothschild and Château Clerc Milon. Its wines are known for Cabernet-led blends that express Pauillac’s gravelly terroir with both power and refinement.
