ABOUT THE WINE

The 2022 Chambolle-Musigny "Clos des Danguerrins" is produced from the historic Clos des Danguerrins, a small walled vineyard situated within one of Burgundy's most celebrated villages for elegant and aromatic Pinot Noir. Limestone-rich soils, excellent drainage, and the cool mesoclimate of Chambolle-Musigny combine to produce wines renowned for their finesse, purity, and remarkable transparency.

The bouquet is immediately expressive, offering layers of wild raspberry, red cherry, crushed strawberry, red currant, rose petals, violets, blood orange, and subtle hints of sandalwood, white pepper, tea leaf, forest floor, and crushed limestone. The palate is remarkably poised and harmonious, balancing concentrated yet weightless fruit with vibrant acidity and exquisitely fine tannins. A striking sense of precision and energy carries through the wine, culminating in a long, graceful finish marked by floral perfume and chalky minerality.

The vineyard is farmed using regenerative and sustainable practices that prioritize healthy soils, biodiversity, and naturally balanced vines. Every cluster is harvested by hand and carefully sorted before fermentation with indigenous yeasts. Gentle extraction and thoughtful whole-cluster inclusion, when the vintage allows, preserve aromatic complexity and structural finesse. The wine is matured in French oak with restrained use of new barrels, ensuring the vineyard's delicate character remains the focal point. Minimal intervention throughout vinification and élevage allows the wine to express the purity and elegance of this exceptional site.

Although approachable for its remarkable balance and silky texture, the 2022 Chambolle-Musigny "Clos des Danguerrins" has the structure and precision to evolve beautifully over the next 12–20 years, developing additional complexity while retaining its signature elegance.

Food Pairing: An exceptional companion to roast quail, duck breast, veal medallions, herb-roasted chicken, lobster with mushrooms, truffle risotto, wild mushroom dishes, or mature Comté and Brillat-Savarin.
