ABOUT THE WINE

The 2022 Latricières-Chambertin Grand Cru is sourced from one of Gevrey-Chambertin's most revered Grand Cru vineyards, situated at the southern end of the Grand Cru slope where shallow limestone soils over fractured bedrock produce Pinot Noir of extraordinary finesse, tension, and longevity. Traditionally regarded as the most refined and mineral-driven of the Gevrey Grand Crus, Latricières-Chambertin emphasizes elegance and precision over sheer power.

The wine opens with an exquisitely layered bouquet of black cherry, wild raspberry, blackberry, crushed strawberry, rose petals, violets, blood orange, and fragrant Asian spices, intertwined with notes of graphite, tea leaf, forest floor, smoked herbs, and crushed limestone. The palate is remarkably pure and focused, combining remarkable concentration with a sense of weightlessness. Fine-grained tannins and vibrant natural acidity frame the wine's layered fruit, while its chalky mineral core delivers extraordinary energy and persistence through an exceptionally long, seamless finish.

The vineyard is farmed using regenerative and sustainable practices that prioritize living soils, biodiversity, and vine health. Hand harvesting ensures optimal fruit selection before meticulous sorting. Fermentation is carried out with indigenous yeasts, employing gentle extraction and thoughtful whole-cluster inclusion where appropriate to preserve aromatic complexity and structural refinement. The wine is matured in French oak with restrained use of new barrels, allowing the distinctive character of Latricières-Chambertin to remain the central focus. Minimal intervention throughout élevage ensures maximum transparency and precision.

Although already captivating in its youth, the 2022 Latricières-Chambertin Grand Cru is built for extended cellaring and will continue to evolve beautifully over the next 20–35 years, gaining further complexity, savory depth, and extraordinary nuance.

Food Pairing: A magnificent companion to roasted venison, pigeon, duck breast, Wagyu beef, herb-crusted lamb, truffle-infused dishes, wild mushrooms, or mature Alpine cheeses such as Comté and Beaufort.
