ABOUT THIS WINE

Grand Curoulet is the vineyard believed to be where the first vines of Arbois were planted, so d’Angerville is making a statement with this bottling. Planted with only Chardonnay and Savagnin, the bottling reflects the vineyard being 1/3 chardonnay and 2/3 Savagnin. The juice is pressed off at harvest and fermentation is done in foudres and barrels. They ferment a third of the harvest on skins for a day to build a bit of texture. And the aging is done in old 5000 L barrels to mellow out before bottling. A true tribute to Jura wine making!

When Burgundy icon Guillaume d’Angerville blind tasted Stéphane Tissot’s Chardonnay Arbois Les Bruyères 2005 he was wowed. He was so inspired by this wine that he founded Domain du Pélican, working with biodynamic vineyards in the Jura.
