Sourced from the limestone-rich slopes of Brézé, one of Saumur’s most prized terroirs, “Montée des Roches” is 100% Cabernet Franc from organically and biodynamically farmed vineyards. The 2022 vintage, marked by balanced ripeness and freshness, yielded fruit with clarity and purity.
Fermentation is spontaneous with native yeasts, and the wine is aged in a mix of neutral oak and large foudres to preserve the varietal’s aromatic lift and mineral backbone. The result is a Saumur-Champigny of elegance rather than extraction—showing tension, refined texture, and the unmistakable chalky freshness of Brézé limestone.

Arnaud Lambert is at the forefront of a quiet revolution in the Loire Valley, dedicated to revealing the full potential of Saumur and Brézé’s historic terroirs through precision viticulture and minimal-intervention winemaking. Since taking over his family’s estate and merging it with Château de Brézé parcels, Lambert has converted all vineyards to organic and biodynamic farming, with a deep respect for soil health and site expression.
