ABOUT THE WINE

Sourced from the iconic Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru appellation on the famed Hill of Corton, this Chardonnay expresses one of Burgundy's most distinguished terroirs. The limestone-rich soils and elevated vineyard sites produce wines renowned for their combination of richness, structure, and striking minerality.

The 2024 vintage offers impressive purity and balance, revealing layers of ripe citrus, orchard fruit, white flowers, chalk, wet stone, and delicate oak spice. Despite its concentration, the wine remains focused and vibrant, with exceptional freshness that promises graceful evolution over the coming two decades.

Benjamin Leroux farms with meticulous attention to vineyard health, working closely with growers who practice sustainable and environmentally responsible viticulture. Grapes are harvested by hand, carefully sorted, and gently pressed before fermentation with native yeasts. Aging takes place in French oak barrels, with only a modest proportion of new oak, allowing the vineyard's character to remain the focal point. Extended lees aging adds complexity, texture, and subtle richness without sacrificing precision.

Although approachable with decanting in its youth, this Grand Cru will reward patience, developing greater complexity, honeyed nuances, roasted nuts, and deeper mineral expression over 10–20+ years.

Food Pairings: Butter-poached lobster, Dover sole, roasted turbot, seared scallops, lobster risotto, Bresse chicken with cream sauce, veal with morel mushrooms, aged Comté, or truffle-infused dishes.

ABOUT THE PRODUCER

Benjamin Leroux is widely regarded as one of Burgundy's most talented and thoughtful winemakers of his generation. After serving as régisseur at the renowned Domaine Comte Armand, he established his own négociant and domaine in 2007, building a reputation for producing terroir-driven wines of exceptional purity across Burgundy's finest appellations.

Working from long-standing relationships with carefully selected growers, Leroux emphasizes sustainable farming, low yields, and harvesting fruit at optimal maturity. In the cellar, his philosophy centers on minimal intervention, native yeast fermentations, gentle extraction, restrained use of new oak, and patient élevage to preserve each vineyard's individuality.

His wines consistently balance richness with elegance, combining Burgundian tradition with a contemporary focus on transparency, precision, and site expression. The Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru exemplifies this philosophy, delivering both the grandeur expected of one of Burgundy's greatest white wine terroirs and the refined, energetic style that has become Benjamin Leroux's signature.
