Marin French Petit Camembert, Cow's milk, California, USA, 4oz/Each

$12.00

Marin French Petite Camembert is a small-format, soft-ripened cow’s milk cheese from Marin County, California, made by Marin French Cheese Co. Inspired by traditional French Camembert, it combines a creamy golden interior with a delicate white bloomy rind and an earthy, mushroom-driven flavor profile.

Petite Camembert is made from cultured pasteurized cow’s milk with microbial enzymes. Marin French uses a specific blend of cultures for this cheese that differs from those used for its Brie style cheeses, helping give the Camembert its more distinctive earthy character.

The cheese is soft-ripened, meaning maturation occurs from the rind inward. When young, the center is relatively firm and mild; as it ripens, the paste becomes increasingly soft, creamy, and eventually quite luscious. The thin, tender rind is edible and contributes additional mushroomy and earthy aromas.

Recommended pairings: Sparkling wine, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc, Dry rosé
