NV Bruno Paillard Rosé "Premiere Cuvee" Extra Brut, Champagne, France
A Pinot Noir-led rosé Champagne with discreet Chardonnay, redcurrant and wild strawberry aromas, a fresh palate and bright, long finish. Made from first pressings, aged three years on lees and at least six months after disgorgement. Extra-Brut.
ABOUT THE WINE
Bruno Paillard’s Rosé Première Cuvée is a multi-vintage Champagne made exclusively from the first press. Pinot Noir leads the blend, with a discreet, undisclosed share of Chardonnay. Pinot Noir is vinified both as a pale white wine after a quick pressing and as a red wine through extended skin maceration. Reserve wines drawn from 25 vintages dating back to 1985 add continuity to the house style.
After three years aging on the lees, the wine rests for at least six months after disgorgement. Its Extra-Brut dosage keeps the finish bright and focused. The house describes aromas of redcurrant and fresh red fruit that open toward morello cherry, wild strawberry and violet, with a subtle citrus note; the palate is fresh, with a bright, lingering finish.
