ABOUT THE WINE

Shaman 22 Rosé combines Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from Marguet’s Grand Cru vineyards in Ambonnay and Bouzy. The producer’s Shaman 22 rosé sheet lists a Chardonnay-led blend, giving this cuvée a distinctive balance within the estate’s Champagne range.

Wild strawberry, orange zest and brioche lead into redcurrant, pink grapefruit and subtle savory notes. Fine effervescence and a creamy palate are supported by fresh acidity and a persistent finish. The result is a detailed rosé Champagne that combines fruit with texture and the character of its Montagne de Reims sites.

ABOUT THE PRODUCER

The Marguet family’s Champagne history dates to around 1875, when Émile Marguet began the house. That long association with the region continues in an estate centered on Ambonnay and Bouzy, with mature vines and close attention to the differences between parcels.

Marguet’s vineyard work follows biodynamic principles and includes horse-drawn cultivation, introduced in 2010. Gentle handling and an emphasis on the natural rhythm of the wines extend this approach into the cellar. The Shaman cuvées bring the estate’s Grand Cru fruit together while retaining the site-focused philosophy behind its more individual bottlings.
