NV Champagne Paul Goerg Brut, Champagne France
Elegant and precise, the NV Paul Goerg Brut delivers classic Côte des Blancs charm with a creamy mousse and lifted minerality. Dominated by Chardonnay, this cuvée offers aromas of crisp green apple, lemon zest, and white flowers, underscored by toasted brioche and almond. The palate is taut and vibrant, with fine acidity and a lingering, saline finish that speaks to its chalky origins.

ABOUT THE WINE
This non-vintage Brut is composed of approximately 60–70% Chardonnay and 30–40% Pinot Noir, sourced primarily from Premier Cru vineyards in the Côte des Blancs, a region revered for its Chardonnay-driven Champagnes. The base wine is blended with reserve wines to enhance depth and consistency, and the cuvée is aged for a minimum of three years on the lees, exceeding the legal requirement and contributing to its creamy texture and complex autolytic notes.
Paul Goerg Brut showcases a refined balance between fruit purity and tertiary complexity, with bright citrus, orchard fruit, and subtle toasty nuances. The dosage is kept moderate (around 8–9 g/L), allowing freshness and structure to shine. It's a versatile Champagne suited for aperitifs, oysters, gougères, or dishes like sole meunière or chicken with morel cream sauce.
ABOUT THE PRODUCER
Champagne Paul Goerg is a grower-led cooperative based in Vertus, a prestigious Premier Cru village in the Côte des Blancs. Founded in the 1950s by a collective of winegrowers seeking greater control over their fruit and winemaking, Paul Goerg has built a reputation for Chardonnay-focused Champagnes that combine precision, finesse, and authenticity.
The estate emphasizes sustainable viticulture, with many growers practicing lutte raisonnée (reasoned agriculture), and several plots moving toward or practicing organic methods. In the cellar, the philosophy is one of patience and restraint: extended lees aging, minimal intervention, and a commitment to expressing the mineral-rich terroir of the Côte des Blancs. The result is a house style that is elegant, fresh, and quietly expressive—classic yet unpretentious.
