NV Domaine Saint-Rémy Crémant d'Alsace "Cuvée Prestige", Alsace, France
Lively and elegant, the Cuvée Prestige from Domaine Saint-Rémy offers a refined expression of Alsace’s sparkling tradition. Delicate aromas of orchard blossom, crisp apple, and pear give way to fine bubbles and a creamy texture, balanced by bright acidity and a dry, mineral finish. Its finesse and freshness make it a standout among Crémants d’Alsace.
ABOUT THIS WINE
This non-vintage Crémant is crafted primarily from Pinot Blanc and Auxerrois, traditional varieties that lend structure and subtle richness, with Chardonnay and Pinot Gris occasionally complementing the blend for added finesse and aromatic lift. The base wine is made from organically farmed grapes harvested from limestone and marl-rich soils surrounding Wettolsheim in the heart of Alsace. After a gentle press and fermentation in stainless steel to preserve purity, the wine undergoes traditional méthode champenoise secondary fermentation in bottle, followed by extended lees aging that contributes depth and a creamy mousse.
On the nose, expect white peach, green apple, almond blossom, and a hint of brioche. The palate is brisk yet elegant, with lively bubbles, citrus vibrancy, and a saline-edged finish that enhances its gastronomic appeal. Ideal as an aperitif, it also pairs beautifully with oysters, tarte flambée, or delicate white fish preparations.
