NV Lady of the Sunshine Solera Rosé of Pinot Noir No. 2 "Mountain Meadow Vineyard", SLO Coast, California, USA
A sparkling rosé of Pinot Noir from the dry-farmed Mountain Meadow Vineyard on the SLO Coast. Native fermentation, a solera-style base and fermenting wine used to create the bubbles give this No. 2 bottling an individual, vineyard-focused identity.

ABOUT THE WINE
This non-vintage sparkling rosé is made from Pinot Noir grown at Mountain Meadow Vineyard in the northwest mountains of the SLO Coast. The dry-farmed, head-trained site lies above Cayucos, combining elevation with proximity to the Pacific.
The solera-style method brings older base wine together with fresh fermenting wine, whose native yeast and natural sugar create bubbles in the bottle. Old French oak and minimal cellar intervention are part of the approach. Offered here as Solera No. 2, it is a distinctive expression of both the vineyard and Gina Giugni’s work with naturally fermented sparkling wine.
ABOUT THE PRODUCER
Gina Giugni founded Lady of the Sunshine in 2017, drawing on her upbringing at her family’s biodynamic Narrow Gate Vineyards in the Sierra Foothills and experience in France, New Zealand, Oregon and Napa.
She and her husband Mikey Giugni, of Scar of the Sea, work on California’s Central Coast. Personally farmed sites, native fermentation and restrained handling connect their wines to the coastal landscape.
