NV Schloss Vaux Rosé, Brut, Rheingau, Germany

Elegant, vibrant, and finely textured, Schloss Vaux Rosé Brut brings together juicy red-fruit character with the precision of traditionally made German Sekt. ABOUT THE WINE

Schloss Vaux Rosé Brut is a traditional-method Sekt crafted to showcase freshness, finesse, and an expressive red-fruit profile. The house describes its Rosé as combining delicate, creamy fruit with a bright and charming personality—a style intended to be both serious enough for the table and immediately enjoyable as an aperitif.

As a non-vintage bottling, the emphasis is on maintaining the recognizable Schloss Vaux house style rather than expressing the conditions of a single harvest. Fresh strawberry, raspberry, and red currant provide the aromatic core, accompanied by subtle floral and gently yeasty notes. On the palate, brisk acidity keeps the fruit lively while traditional bottle fermentation contributes a fine mousse and creamy texture.

The wine is produced according to the traditional method, with secondary fermentation taking place in the bottle—the technique Schloss Vaux considers central to its approach to Sekt. This labor-intensive process encourages finer bubbles and greater textural complexity while retaining the freshness that defines the house style.

Its combination of red fruit, refreshing acidity, and delicate mousse makes it especially versatile with food. Pair it with smoked salmon, tuna tartare, sushi, shellfish, charcuterie, roast poultry, soft cheeses, or lightly spiced Asian dishes. It is equally at home as an aperitif or celebratory glass on its own.

ABOUT THE PRODUCER

Schloss Vaux is one of Germany’s historic specialist sparkling-wine houses, with a history extending back more than 150 years. Its story connects three places: the company was founded in Berlin, its name and early qualitative identity have roots in Metz in Lorraine, and it ultimately established its home in Eltville in the Rheingau, where it remains dedicated to producing premium Sekt.

Unlike estates for which sparkling wine is a secondary pursuit, Schloss Vaux is fundamentally a Sektmanufaktur—a sparkling-wine specialist. Its philosophy centers on craftsmanship in both vineyard and cellar and, above all, the traditional method of bottle fermentation. The portfolio ranges from approachable house cuvées such as VAUX Rosé to vineyard-designated and reserve bottlings intended to demonstrate the potential of German Sekt at a more ambitious level.

The house combines this long tradition with a distinctly contemporary approach to German sparkling wine: purity of fruit, energetic acidity, fine mousse, and careful cellar work take precedence over heaviness. The result is a recognizable style that balances German precision and freshness with the creamy texture and complexity of traditional-method sparkling wine.
