NV Vilmart & Cie “Grand Cellier” Brut, Montagne de Reims, Champagne, France - 3L JEROBOAM
A beautifully expressive Champagne from one of the region’s most celebrated grower-producers, Vilmart & Cie “Grand Cellier” combines richness, precision, and vibrant freshness. Aromas of ripe golden apple, lemon zest, white flowers, and toasted brioche are complemented by subtle notes of almond, honey, and warm pastry. The palate is elegant and generously textured, with a delicate, creamy mousse, lively citrus-driven acidity, and a refined mineral backbone. A long, harmonious finish reveals lingering notes of orchard fruit, toasted nuts, and chalky salinity.
ABOUT THE WINE
Vilmart & Cie “Grand Cellier” is a distinguished non-vintage Premier Cru Champagne crafted from 70% Chardonnay and 30% Pinot Noir grown in the village of Rilly-la-Montagne, in the Montagne de Reims. Blending wines from multiple harvests for consistency and complexity, the cuvée showcases the estate’s signature balance of richness and tension. Hand-harvested grapes undergo fermentation and ten months of maturation in large oak casks, lending subtle depth and a silky texture without overwhelming the purity of the fruit. Malolactic fermentation is intentionally avoided to preserve the wine’s natural acidity and freshness. The producer's current technical information specifies a dosage of 8 g/L, though individual releases may vary. Expressive notes of citrus, pear, white blossoms, and gentle spice make this an exceptionally versatile Champagne, equally suited to an elegant aperitif or paired with oysters, butter-poached lobster, roasted turbot, or creamy poultry dishes.
