2023 Stolpman Vineyards ''Love You Bunches'' Rosé, Central Coast, California, USA
We love this new bottling from Stolpman Vineyards. Hand-picked grapes, low-intervention in the winery, soft pink color, dry, lush red fruit ranging from fresh strawberry to juicy stone fruit and melon with a uniquely dry finish.
ABOUT THIS WINE
The Pun “Love You Bunches” stems from the utilization of carbonic fermentation, which simply means to ferment in a sealed tank filled with Carbon Dioxide rather than Oxygen. They do not de-stem or crush the fruit, rather each bunch gets plenty of love! They must “lovingly and gently” hand pick each cluster, stay extremely vigilant as the fruit is transported in small stacking fruit baskets, then delicately pour each bunch into our shallow carbonic tanks where still, grapes aren’t crushed from the weight above. By preventing oxidation & forcing yeast to penetrate though the grapes’ pores and ferment whole – a light-bodied, bright wine is created. The simple, whimsical label is the perfect fit for this fun, happy wine. The label shows off vineyard manager and Grape Whisperer, Ruben Solorzano’s beautiful penmanship.
ABOUT THIS PRODUCER
Stolpman Vineyards is located in Ballard Canyon, just 15 miles from the coast. The location lends to warm days with cool nights. Tom and Marilyn Stolpman planted their first grapes in 1992 and today have 120 planted acres. The vineyard continues to be a dynamic location for the planting of Syrah, Sangiovese and Rousanne. Jeff Newton and Larry Finkle, along with our Vineyard Manager, Ruben Solorzano, have recently planted high density vines and continue to explore the standards of what it takes to make the best quality grapes from southern exposed vines and limestone soil.
