Kate started working in restaurants at the age of 16 and learned very quickly that hospitality comes naturally to her. Just a few years later, as a bartender, she was introduced to the vast world of wine through a wine training held at the restaurant. She became fascinated with all things beverage, and worked to improve her knowledge and skillset to eventually move on to beverage program management. Over the next 6 years, she managed multiple beverage programs in the private club and restaurant industries while continuing to study wine and spirits.

Kate obtained her Certified Sommelier certification in 2022, and decided she wanted to find an opportunity that would allow her to focus on what she was most interested in (wine), rather than beverage as a whole. When she saw that Perrine (a name she had heard many, many times throughout her career in and around Atlanta) was looking for a manager for her new Sandy Springs shop, she figured wine retail would be exactly what she was looking for - a wine-focused position and an exciting new challenge!

In the beginning of 2024, Kate participated in the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs ‘Young Sommeliers Competition’ and won the Regional Competition. She credits her experience at PERRINE’s with her performance, as her passion for wine has been at an all-time high since joining the team.
