1978 ‘Cuvee Aime Cazes’ Rivesaltes AOC
Notes of bergamot, orange-chai tea, and golden raisins. The alcohol is well integrated on the palate or finish, though the viscous texture leaves a slick impression on the palate that lingers alongside all the enduring earthy, herbal spice.
The Domaine Cazes is one of the largest biodynamic producers in France. Their Rivesaltes Cuvée Aimé Cazes is a blend of Grenache Blanc and Grenache. It was aged 22 years in barrel and 10 years in the bottle before release. It has 116 g/L of residual sugar and clocks in at 15% ABV. Complex flavors of toffee, bacon, coffee, raisin, and orange peel. Rich on the palate without being overly sappy.
A wine enriched by myriad aromas: green nuts, Seville oranges, figs, dried apricots, cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamom… Fragrances whose incredible length is emphasized by the fleshy and suave character of the wine.
