ABOUT THIS PRODUCER
Bérêche et Fils is a historic Champagne house, founded in 1847. Today, it cultivates 10 hectares (25 acres) of vineyards spread across three main areas in and around Ludes and Ormes in Montagne de Reims, as well as Vallée de la Marne.
Raphaël Bérêche inherited the family estate in 2004 and, four years later, was joined by his brother Vincent. Since then, the brothers have expanded the family's vineyard holdings with the purchase of a small grand cru vineyard plot in Mailly in 2012. Together, they have converted the estate to organic farming methods and have also begun to use biodynamic viticultural practices.
The estate's vineyards are divided into 21 parcels planted to a combination of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. These vineyard parcels are kept separate throughout the vinification and aging stages, with fermentation occurring in the presence of natural yeasts. The wines are disgorged manually and a small dosage added before bottling without filtration.
The Bérêche et Fils portfolio includes non-vintage and vintage Extra Brut, Brut, Rosé, Blanc de Blancs and Blancs de Noirs wines, as well as a Brut Réserve. The Bérêche brothers have also created the "Raphaël et Vincent Bérêche" brand under which they produce a range of Champagnes from purchased grapes.
