ABOUT THIS WINE
An eclectic blend of 40% Cabernet Franc, 30% Corvina, 15% Rondinella, 5% Molinara, 5% Merlot, and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. The indigenous grapes dry for over 3 months; Bordeaux grapes are dried separately for 2 months. The grapes are fermented separately with native yeasts in tanks. About 50% of the final blend is processed in the classic Amarone style. After resting in tanks for 6 months, the lots are blended together and aged for 40 months in traditional, large Slavonian oak barrels. Minimal sulfur is added during fermentation and aging, with no additional sulfur added at bottling.
ABOUT THIS PRODUCER
The stunning hills of classic Valpolicella yield incredible wines in a variety of styles, from vibrant reds to dramatic passito "da meditazione". No producer in the region has ever achieved the status of Giuseppe Quintarelli, who passed away in 2012. His winemaking heir, Luca Fedrigo, worked alongside Bepi for 10 years, in the vineyard and the cellar, and learned the techniques and traditions of Valpolicella from the "maestro". He founded his artisanal project L'Arco in Negrar, a few meters from the Quintarelli estate, and perpetuates the fascination of the greatest "vinaiolo" to have ever graced these lands.
