2018 Eva Fricke Pinot Blanc Sekt Brut Nature, Rheingau, Germany

Refined, mineral, and strikingly pure, the 2018 Pinot Blanc Sekt Brut Nature from Eva Fricke is a precise and elegant sparkling wine that highlights the finesse of Rheingau terroir. Aromas of crisp pear, green apple, almond blossom, and crushed stone lead into a taut, bone-dry palate with fine bubbles, brisk acidity, and a long, saline finish. A beautifully structured and quietly expressive Sekt with Champagne-like poise.

ABOUT THIS WINE

Made from 100% Pinot Blanc (Weissburgunder) grown on organically farmed, slate-influenced soils in the Rheingau, this Sekt is produced using the traditional method with second fermentation in bottle and no dosage (Brut Nature). The 2018 vintage was warm and generous, yet thanks to Fricke’s high-altitude vineyard sites, the wine retains lift and precision.

After primary fermentation with native yeasts, the wine rests on its lees for several years before disgorgement, developing creamy texture and aromatic depth. Expect notes of orchard fruit, citrus peel, almond, and a touch of brioche, balanced by a firm mineral core and mouthwatering acidity.
