ABOUT THIS PRODUCER

The story of an adventure where a husband and wife, in 1971, bought a ruin without access or water, no electricity and decided to revive an old vineyard on the verge of oblivion. It is the year of birth of the AOC Cahors and the beginning of a life of stubbornness and convictions. A 36-hectare hillside vineyard over 45 years old, perched 174 meters on the Autoire Causse de Grézels… This is where the estate stands "La Bérangeraie", a siderolithic terroir veined with red sandstone, iron stone, bauxite and clay. A landscape of woods of moors and hillsides and a poor land cradle of the oldest vineyards of Cahors. It is in its origins that the domain "La Bérangeraie" draws its character. Low yields (systematic thinning), careful aging with or without barrels, manual harvests & vinifications where the vignerons intervene as little as possible.
