2020 Domaine Jadot Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru "Les Combettes", Burgundy, France
Clean and precise bouquet with citrus and crushed stone. The palate is well balanced with good depth and grip, slightly waxy in style, fine acidity with touches of tangerine and orange pith towards the finish.
ABOUT THIS WINE
Puligny Montrachet, located south of Meursault and North of Chassagne Montrachet, is one of the most glorious representatives of the prestigious Côte des Blancs. “Les Combettes” are located halfway up the bottom of the fracture of the Burgundy formation areas (secondary and tertiary), right up against “Les Referts” in edge of the Meursault vineyard, due east. The ground is warm and well drained, ideal for Chardonnay. He is composed of little earth and a lot of rocks
delivering this minerality necessary for the constitution of a great wine. The harvest is manual in petty cash in order to preserve the integrity of the fruit. The grapes are then pressed in sweetness then fermented in the barrels of our cooperage a third of which are new. Aging lasts about 15 months on fine lees before preparation for bottling.
