ABOUT THIS WINE
A blend of 60% Viura and 40% Tempranillo Blanco, featuring a clean, crisp, and modern style. The level of precision and clarity brought out in the Viura is a remarkable testament to Javier’s winemaking prowess. The vineyards are sourced largely in Rioja Alavesa, near the Sierra de Cantabrian Mountains. The average vine age is around 20 years. The wine is fermented and aged in stainless steel. Enjoy notes of ripe yellow peach and freshly squeezed lemon juice, with a crisp and almost saline structure.
ABOUT THIS PRODUCER
Javier is the fifth generation of a family of winemakers from Laguardia, a privileged place in the Rioja Alavesa. He began learning the trade with his grandfather and at the age of 17, he made his first wine in his father's winery. Finally, in 2013, he decided to undertake his personal project: Bodegas Javier San Pedro Ortega. Cueva de Lobos is Javier's line of fun, aromatic and modern wines. This is how Bodegas Javier San Pedro Ortega is an innovative winery with a young team that seeks to surprise and differentiate itself from the classic Rioja wine. Their wines have a story to tell. They are modern, authentic, and unique. They transmit the expression of their land since they are made and raised with care from a dynamic and current vision.
