2021 Domaine Mazilly Père et Fils Hautes-Côtes de Beaune Rouge "Clos du Bois Prévot", Burgundy, France
This single-vineyard Pinot Noir from the Hautes Côtes de Beaune delivers a refined, cool-climate expression with remarkable lift and purity. The 2021 vintage offers a vivid core of red cherry, wild strawberry, and crushed rose petals, accented by hints of white pepper and forest floor. Sleek and linear on the palate, it’s supported by silky tannins, bright acidity, and a clean mineral finish that speaks of its high-elevation origins.

ABOUT THE WINE
The 2021 Clos du Bois Prévot is a monopole—a walled, single-vineyard site exclusively owned and farmed by Domaine Mazilly Père et Fils in Meloisey, on the western slope of the Hautes Côtes de Beaune. Sitting at higher altitude with excellent sun exposure and limestone-rich soils, this site produces Pinot Noir of vibrant freshness, precise aromatics, and delicate structure.
Fermented in temperature-controlled tanks with traditional Burgundian methods, the wine undergoes maturation in French oak barrels, a portion of which are older to avoid overwhelming the purity of the fruit. The 2021 vintage, marked by cooler temperatures and a shorter growing season, has yielded a wine of remarkable finesse and balance. Expect flavors of red berries, subtle earth, and a whisper of spice, all wrapped in a light to medium-bodied frame with a gentle, persistent finish.
This wine pairs effortlessly with duck breast, mushroom risotto, roast chicken, or soft cheeses like Reblochon or Époisses. It is a Burgundy that drinks beautifully young but can also evolve gracefully over the next 5–7 years.
ABOUT THE PRODUCER
Domaine Mazilly Père et Fils is a family-run estate based in Meloisey, a small village in the heart of the Hautes Côtes de Beaune. With a winemaking lineage dating back to the early 20th century, the domaine is now managed by Frédéric and Aymeric Mazilly, who oversee the estate's 18 hectares across appellations like Aloxe-Corton, Meursault, Pommard, and Hautes Côtes.
The Mazillys practice sustainable viticulture, working the soils by hand and limiting chemical inputs to respect the biodiversity of their vineyards. In the cellar, their philosophy is classic and restrained, favoring native yeast fermentations, judicious use of oak, and minimal intervention.
The Clos du Bois Prévot represents the domaine’s commitment to expressing the unique character of their high-altitude terroirs—a wine that balances tradition with purity, and offers exceptional value in the landscape of artisan Burgundy.
