ABOUT THIS WINE

From the Producer: "With Talley Chardonnay, instead of overpowering the delicate flavor of the fruit with butter and ripeness, our goal is to craft wines that express the vineyard itself. Our coastal climate, coupled with our hands off winemaking approach, results in refreshingly drinkable wines. Talley Chardonnay tends to express a unique combination of fruit flavors that make it quite approachable and bright. Citrus flavors and aromas are a constant, with a sleek and supple texture that pairs well with a variety of foods.

The vineyard that surrounds Rosemary Talley’s home. As our coolest vineyard and home to shaley loam soils, Rosemary’s Vineyard produces with a higher level of acidity and slightly thicker skin than our other vineyards. Because of this, the wines from this vineyard consistently shine with both freshness and elegance."

ABOUT THIS PRODUCER

The goal at Talley Vineyards is to produce estate-grown Chardonnay and Pinot Noir that best reflect the unique characteristics of each of the Talley family’s five San Luis Obispo County vineyards. Talley is located in the Arroyo Grande Valley on California’s South Central Coast, eight miles from the Pacific Ocean. The Talley family has owned the land for three generations with a focus on vegetables until the first grapes were planted on the property in 1986, which the land was well equipped for, given its rolling hills and breezy climate. Brian Talley started his work on the family vegetable farm at the age of 12, and he now runs the vineyard program which is about 36,000 cases today. Of special note is the Rosemary’s Vineyard Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, named after Brian’s mother and the estate matriarch. All wines produced under the Talley label are grown, produced, and bottled by Talley. They also make a line of value wines under the Bishop’s Peak label.
