2022 Domaine Jacques Dury Mercurey, Burgundy, France

The 2022 Domaine Jacques Dury Mercurey presents an expressive nose of ripe red cherries, black currants, and subtle hints of baking spice and earth. On the palate, it is medium-bodied with a beautiful balance of fresh fruit, delicate tannins, and a refreshing acidity. Flavors of red berries, a touch of plum, and a hint of tobacco lead to a smooth, velvety finish with a lingering trace of minerality and oak. The wine's purity and elegance make it incredibly approachable yet capable of aging.

ABOUT THIS WINE

The grapes for this Mercurey were hand-harvested in late September from the estate’s sustainably farmed vineyards in the heart of the Mercurey appellation. The wine underwent fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks with indigenous yeasts, ensuring the preservation of its fresh fruit character. Following fermentation, the wine was aged for 12 months in French oak barrels (20% new), which added depth and complexity without overwhelming the delicate fruit flavors. The wine was bottled unfined and unfiltered to maintain its natural expression and purity.
