ABOUT THE WINE
The 2022 Hermitage Rouge blends fruit from several of Hermitage’s legendary lieux-dits, including Le Méal, Les Bessards, L’Hermite, and Péléat, each contributing a distinct voice to the cuvée’s symphonic complexity. A pure expression of Syrah, it showcases the region's granite and limestone terroir through intense aromatics of graphite, spice, and garrigue. Vinified using traditional methods—whole-cluster fermentation, indigenous yeasts, and aging in a mix of old foudres and demi-muids—this wine is a testament to restraint and terroir transparency.
Crafted without fining or filtration, the 2022 vintage is noted for its concentration, freshness, and balance, reflecting a season marked by warm days, cool nights, and ideal harvest conditions. This wine shines with dishes like braised lamb shank, venison, wild mushroom risotto, or aged cheeses such as Comté or Tomme de Savoie. With time, it will evolve profound complexity, rewarding cellaring over the next 25 to 40 years.
