ABOUT THIS WINE

50% Sangiovese, 50% Prugnolo Gentile

Inspired by Provencal Rosés, the Rivetti decided to produce one rosé from their porfolio. The fascinating characteristics of Sangiovese and Prugnolo Gentile, permitted us to create a wine that shows great character, an intense aroma, and which is very pleasant to drink.

Destemming and soft pressing, without overstressing the berries. The must remains in brief contact with the skins in order to obtain an extremely balanced free-run juice. Alcoholic fermentation for about 10 days, followed by aging in stainless steel tanks on its lees for about 3 months.

ABOUT THIS PRODUCER

Giuseppe Rivetti and his wife, Lidia were dedicated and expert farmers throughout the 1960's and 1970's. They exemplified humility, respect, as well as ambition. These are the values that still define the philosophy of La Spinetta. In due course their children Carlo, Bruno, Giorgio, and Giovanna took over the winery reins. In 1977 the children, with the support of their parents, began the first production of their Moscatos, Bricco Quaglia and Biancospino. These would be some of the first single-cru Moscato to be produced in Italy.

With the success of their Moscato business, the Rivetti family decided to branch out and focus on red grapes. In 1985 they launched their first red bottling with Barbera Ca di Pian. In 1989 Pin was created. Through observation and collaboration with fellow producers, this wine was made with new winemaking ideas and with implementing the latest vineyard and cellar techniques. The plan was to make a wine with international appeal but also one that was deeply linked to the Piedmont territory. Subsequent ventures focused on Barbaresco and Barolo. In 2018 property was in Tortona was acquired for the production of Timorasso.
